So on top of moving to another state, my wife and I decided that we wanted to live a healthier lifestyle. So we can be around to watch our children grow up. So I am currently 5ft 6in and weigh 227lbs. We decided that 2 of our biggest problems is that we drink soda almost daily and eat out pretty much every day. So I made a spreadsheet to look at what we are spending our money on and we decided that we need to stop eating out and make food at home. This way, a few things happen.
- We know what ingredients are going into the food since we are the ones cooking it.
- We can make healthier choices when we buy the food
- And we will save money by making food and eating leftovers than buying food for lunch and dinner.
I also decided that if I get up a little earlier I can make myself something for breakfast and start my day with something to eat instead of waiting until lunch to eat anything. Even if this is just some scrambled eggs and coffee, it is better than not eating anything at all and waiting until 11am-12pm to eat anything.
Somewhere along the way we will also incorporate exercises as well. Whether it be walks with the boys or doing some kind of weight lifting. Could be with the kettle bells we purchased or the community gym. This way we mix both diet and exercise to lose the weight and become healthier people.
